Six Senses #62

See:
• J and the Giant Peach!
• Vixen night swimming, only her white chin visible above the dark water
• Zig-zagging around dozens of frogs jumping onto the road in celebration of the Sunday night rain
• An interesting rock propped on the wall outside the office today...

Hear:
"We're really close to Jesus coming back to earth" overheard while eating out.
"We'd like to offer you the job!" Ouch.
• A double cd of Ayurvedic Sutra chants
• The dog's tail beating a happy rhythm on the dining room floor

Taste:
• Tofu in a peanut curry sauce
• Tofu in tamarind sauce with pineapple and peppers
• Coconut juice on ice
• Tangy fresh Go Berry frozen yogurt, from local grass-fed cows
• Onion rings, a rare indulgence in fried food
• Salt water taffy
• Sun-warmed blueberries

Touch:
• Floating in warm lake water
• Finally figuring out how to move with the breath, a little
• Morning walk in gentle rain
• Plucking handfuls of ripe berries

Feel:
• Continuously wondering why people need to talk so loudly in public?
• Suddenly unable to handle the ridiculous amounts of caffeine I thought I was accustomed to
• Sad at having to restore my iPods factory settings, occupied by the task of refilling it with music I haven't listened to in years

Smell:
• Night air that smells like watermelon when I wake
• Pine pitch fingertips
• Lavender oil on the temples before bed

Morning walks in gentle rain sounds so appealing...given the heat we're having here. Thank you for freshening me up

HI m. thanks for the lovely sensual journey! I have nearly crashed the car on rainy nights trying to avoid frogs! My mother thinks I'm insane... that the next person is just going to hit them, but many get by me and hopefully I will get better at avoiding them... or not driving in the rain!

And, yes, why DO people talks so loudly in public?

So nice that the land has had liquid luxury these last few days!

The giant peach is adorable! I also love the road crowded with frogs, blueberries warmed in the sun, and the watermelon scent in the night air. As for wondering why people talk so loudly in public... I don't get it either - a breakdown in propriety and privacy? I find myself wincing in embarrassment on their behalf, especially when they're discussing details of a romantic or medical nature...

I love that photo of the blueberries. Are those yours or at a farmer's market? And that rock! Where did it come from? I'd be tempted to take it home with me. Is that other shot a photo of a wasp's nest? It looks like the paper wasps we get here in the trees. And "We'd like to offer you the job?" What??? Where? Is this what you were talking about yesterday? Fill me in.

Read Lyn's version of this that she got from you. Now read yours, lovely imagery.
Hope you don't mind if I copy it (course I'll credit you when I do the post)
Just a great way to be mindful of where we are in the moment.

Sounds like you had a really lovely week. Those blueberries look yummy. Thanks for sharing it with us.

Teri, I owe you an email ; )
Those berries were from a local organic pick-your-own farm, just 5 minutes away. And yes, I think that must have been a paper wasp's nest - I found it in the woods along the path. It must have blown down from some tree branches...

Hi Fire Byrd, thank you! Of course you are welcome to use the Six Senses concept - it started out as "Five Senses Friday" (I didn't start it but I don't know who did) but I though it needed one more sense at the very least. Maybe when my intuition develops more I'll have to rename it Seven Senses Sunday...
