Interesting really that August brings such abundance of foods and flowers and lushness, and just around the corner lies fall. Life's cycles.

Absolutely gorgeous.

mmmmm.... sunflower envy! Living in the forest, and now with limited water because of low well, my garden is suffering in this drought!

Yours, however, looks nourishing!

all we have is all we need

I love this time of year ... I am so happy that there are bowls of berries, tomatoes and squash waiting for me to turn them into a magical state to be brought out mid-winter to grace our table with the taste of late summer sun ...

I love berries, and fortunately they are in great abundance here in the Willamette Valley. (I just finished writing a song about berries to play at the farmer's markets.)

Those sunflowers are happiness. Love them.

And the blackberries remind me of the Galway Kinnell poem, 'Blackberry Eating' (though the poem is set in September...)

that poem is so appropriate hkatz, thanks for sharing!

valerianna, my garden is wilted too but these came in a vase from a friend so they are quite happy, despite the drought.

Such beautiful images. One of my neighbors planted a whole field of sunflowers and they make me smile as I drive by. As for the blackberries, they were everywhere this year, but the birds beat us to them.
