Yay, I broke it!

Just wanted to share this necklace I spotted on Etsy over the weekend because it marries two of my favorite things — jewelry and Fiestaware. The Broken Plate Shop creates jewlery — pendants, brooches, cuff links, bracelets, rings and more — from patterned, colorful pieces of broken dishware. I like how the organic shapes lend themselves to interesting pendant designs — there's a real "work with what you've got" attitude to these pieces.

And The Broken Plate loves to do custom work — so if you've accidentally smashed a piece of your favorite dinnerware, console yourself by having a piece of jewelry made.

Oh, oh, oh I am in love with this!...I love dishes of all kinds and for years have collected them...and I have a pin someone made of a piece of a brown transferware dish...but that was cut out on purpose and not as beautiful as these pieces....I love this Etsy shop...Thanks M!

My daughter collects Fiesta ware so she would die for this piece:)

Hi-Kim W. just gave me your link. I live in a neighboring town. I love your photos and stories. I especially liked the mushroom postings.

This necklace is sweet. I've been saving lots of broken pieces of old plates and dishes for some reason...

Come visit me at Rustique Gallery sometime. Sherry
