Some of them are still there in the garden, actually, waiting out winter just like me.I took this photo on Saturday and am posting it for Bethany, who I noticed was contemplating a similar scene in her own garden this weekend...
Will March come in like a lion today? A quiet, well-behaved lion perhaps.

There is a certain breath of new life in the air here... And the sun has warmth again. Looking forward to seeing that garden grow ...
I have a Harry Lauder Walking Stick outside my kitchen window and I noticed yesterday that the branches are dotted all over with new nodes. Its on its way, its on its way.......
oh yes . they are there!
Now you have that tune in my head
Brian, driving home from Kirtan last night I saw the first sugar shack boiling maple syrup, plumes of steam rising up from the metal rooftop. Another very encouraging sign!
Suz, uh oh, sorry, I know how that is...
I'll take the lion whatever way he wishes to walk in --here's hoping that we see shoots of green and daffodils soon!
I absolutely love this photo.
OH, and I loooooved the poem you shared in my comments. :)
Oh good P&V, thanks!
Nice photo! I think we're all waiting out winter at this point.

but i love that we seemed to be looking at the same flower.
actually that particular cone flower grows right near the watermelon poppies you loved and that I will try to save you seeds from this year.
