Let It Snow, Let It Snow, Let It...Whoah!

Today would be a wonderful time for our friend to visit with his truck. And his plow.

Snowed in at home, I've nearly been snowed into the house by the 12+ inches of snow that's fallen in the past 24 hours.

I look disappointed, don't I? Actually I had things I needed to get out and do today, namely pick up the ingredients for the spinach balls I'm supposed to be bringing to work for a bridal shower tomorrow. Instead I'm donning my Nanook of the North hat and wading through knee-deep snow to the woodshed to retrieve more fuel for the fire.

This afternoon I received approval for not just the intended 4 but 6 of the card designs I've been working on, along with a request for some more. So phase 2 of the project continues, the tweaking and perfecting phase, along with yet another phase 1, the creative design phase. Phase 3 will be getting all the files ready for the printer. I just hope everything will continue to go smoothly, as I have two meditation retreats coming up in March and I don't want to carry work worries with me to either one. At least I have this snow day to do a little catching up.

Stay warm in the snow, fellow New Englanders, and if anyone knows of any very (very) simple vegetarian appetizers that don't involve Parmesean cheese (the missing ingredient I won't be able to find at the local store) please send them my way this afternoon!

Look how beautiful you are!! I love that hat too. My daughter bought me one for Christmas. B and I both have one now! We are just having rain...no snow but if I had that much snow I wouldn't have any electricity to use my computer or anything. Why it goes out every time it snows I have no idea! I can't think of anything right off the top of my head for you to make. Food Network dot com...my go-to always!

AK, I'm seeing this too late to look up recipes, but I LOVED the pic of you in your hat (I have several of those myself and love them. Feels to me like I've taken my quilt, wrapped it around my head, and get to go out that way and run errands, snug as a bug). And I envy you all that snow!!!

You look beautiful in your hat. I look a little scary in mine! I was very happy to see the snow today, though I, too, had stuff that needed to get done for tomorrow. Oh well.

Vegetarian appetizer: polenta circles (or corn tortilla triangles) baked with spinach and cheddar. Yum.

You look so cute in that hat. They're calling for snow here too, but I hope it goes on by. Being a Deep South Girl snow is just not my thing.

Good luck with the designs.

What a great photo of you! While you were getting all that snow we were getting it in the form of rain in the eastern side of the state. Hope you found a recipe that worked for you!

We got 2.5 inches of rain in RI today with 2 more inches expected tomorrow...I have not yet looked in my basement to see if it is flooded...I would rather have had snow...Love you in the hat!

I've got a similar hat! Still, I'm glad I live where it doesn't snow. I got chills from your photos.

same snow amounts here. Congrats on the cards. isnt the pressure of life worries part of what drives us to go on a meditation retreat? These things will always be there, until we become enlightened i guess, but from my understanding the idea is to learn to recognize when the thoughts wander and return to the present moment, something somewhat easier perhaps to do whilst meditating with no exterior distractions.

I'm jealous! Here in Connecticut it's just pouring buckets....if only it were a little colder!

I'm not sure if you'd have these ingredients either, but I made this roasted beet crostini at Christmas and it was delicious! http://www.eatingwell.com/recipes/roasted_beet_crostini.html

love the open door curve.

we've got it today.

but the slushy corners
delete some pleasure
from an otherwise
splendid snowfall

neat photos... obviously.. I don't have snow like that here in ABQ. But I do remember getting major amounts of snow in PA growing up.

Kudos on the job!
