Thursday Double Takes

These hills are bare now, but last week I caught the very end of the day's light as I trudged towards the parking lot after work — the leaves were golden alchemy against the eerie gray sky of an impending rain storm.

The golden colors are spectacular against the gray sky - amazing that it is all gone so quick...

I can feel the rain coming, just by looking at this beautiful pairing.

So beautiful that juxtaposition. I always feel like something magical is about to happen when the sky turns that color above the autumn leaves. You're right; it is alchemy.

Without my "seeing" glasses I saw candied orange peel on a pewter dish!
Sometimes, when there is still enough blue for reflection, our sea does similar magick tricks when storms blow in.
