Photos couldn't possibly do justice to the woods yesterday. At one point I looked up from a (what else?) mushroom I was photographing and gasped, the scene around me was simply so breathtaking. When the sun appeared, clouds of gray mist materialized from the wet moss carpets and the surface of the river itself, and all the while yellow leaves fluttered down through the branches overhead. It was utterly peaceful, and I was grateful to have my spirit recharged before the start of another work week. I hope the photos bring you a small bit of that peace this morning.

The lighting in these photos is just spectacular....especially the last one!
What a beautiful walk-- can almost hear the creek. I love it when the sun creates rays though the trees and branches.
so beautiful
ahhhhh.
i'm transported.
I arrived via Robin from Birdtweets and all I can say is - Home. I feel home here in the woods with you, these images of nature that anchor themselves to the heart so effortlessly.
This walk that brings to mind a similar one during Labor Day weekend in the mountains upstate New York, your appreciation of the moment, how you capture life be it in a spiderweb, or rust, or a late poppie, or even infinity in your hand reflection on the water.
And then Kerouac...mmm...
I hope you don't mind that I added your blog to the list of rooms on my website that are a must to visit.
Isabel
Welcome Isabel! And thank you! I definitely don't mind, and I look forward to visiting your blog as well.
Magpie, I think we should trek down to these woods when you visit. I hope the weather is agreeable. I think this may be one of the most beautiful spots in the area.
I think you captured that feeling of renewal that a trip to the woods can provide.
Another beautiful spiderweb photo, and the one above that with the sun flare is stunning! I ALWAYS love your photos of nature!
