The Wall Paintings of Sol LeWitt at MASS MoCA

Last Saturday I finally had the pleasure of seeing the Sol LeWitt exhibit at MASS MoCA. It really is three whole floors of stunning (this is just a small glimpse of some huge walls) and it's well worth a trip to the beautiful Berkshires to experience them for yourself. Luckily you have lots of time to plan your visit - the exhibit runs until 2033.

Wow, I really like these bold colors and lines. Hopefully by 2033 I can make it up that way!

Melanie--How large are these? Do they take up entire walls? And, how many of them are there? 2033? How will they show other things in the museum? Unless, they are off by themselves someplace? I can only think of how the exhibits are at SF MOMA and there is such limited space. I'd be interested in hearing all about it. Guess I could go to their website though, right? Oh...I love the post right before this one: specimen. Love that green moss! Interesting you have done Earth and Water. Now...sky and?

Hi Teri, I'm not sure how many in all (I'd have to check the website) but they are quite large — whole walls — and there is a three story building on campus dedicated to the exhibit. So it doesn't take room away from other exhibits..believe me, there's A LOT of space here, lots of the factory buildings on campus are standing empty for future plans I'm sure.

Fire and Air would be the next elements...maybe I'll work on those this weekend! In fact if it's sunny in the morning tomorrow I'm going to try to tackle air.
