• Work stress
• Short hair again
• Jittery while photographing in an overgrown section of a North Adams graveyard (pics to come this week)

Taste:
• Whole chicken roasted with apple cider vinegar, the leftover pieces simmering down into soup stock as I type this
• Local grass-fed beef burger with sauteed red onions
• A true Dark & Stormy, made with Goslings Dark Rum and their crisp ginger beer
• Captain Morgan & Coke. There's a good reason I stopped drinking these about 20 years ago, but apparently I needed to refresh my memory.
• Homemade mac & cheese

Hear:
• The slamming, clattering noises of a vintage candlepin bowling alley, with an adjacent dark bar and Friday night karaoke. This place could become habit-forming.
• Waking up to the sound of our friend rapping on the answer machine - inviting us to go rafting, no less
• A four year old boy critiquing art at MASS MoCA on Saturday. "That's art because it has lots of colors!" moving on to the next piece, "that's NOT art."
• Bottles smashing, one after the other, inside the bowels of the redemption machine

See:
• Deer in the fields, eating dropped apples
• Fog settling over the hills
• The shapes of branches bared for winter
• The obscene carrot...

Smell:
• Earthy beets from the cold garden
• Bacon
• Fresh baked bread at the local grocery

That is one obsene carrot for sure. Yikes! Thanks for the smile. Love your photos, especially the bowling balls and the sky and I always love your observations. Poetry. Your blog is one of my favorite places to visit.
Oh, the carrot takes the pick. Love the sensual senses surveyed on Sunday.

LoveLoveLove Dark & Stormys...they were the signature drink at my daughter's wedding...on the same day as Tropical Storm Hanna:)
As always, wonderful observations and great pictures...and hilarious carrot!

I'm in for a dark and stormy but love the sky as you have captured it! I'm with Bethany, your blog is one of my favourite places to visit too!
The obscene carrot - LOL.
I've been wondering what a Dark & Stormy is since you mentioned it on Twitter the other day. Never heard of them before.
I love your five senses posts ... so evocative!
