Mushrooms for Lunch

Heading out of the office for lunch yesterday I debated whether or not I should grab my camera. What could I possibly see between work and the grocery store? I asked myself, and left it behind.

Luckily it wasn't too long a walk back to get it.

Are they edible?

I always adore your fungi photos! I'd even buy a mushroom specialty cookbook just for your pics. If I were your agent we'd be trackin' down a publisher...hmmmmmmm, maybe I should research mushroom recipes. We could collaborate. (grin)

Wow, I don't know if these edible lakeviewer (and welcome, by the way I keep meaning to say hello!)...I'm very paranoid about foraging. Especially mushrooms. And especially after watching "Into the Wild."

Sheila, thank you! We wouldn't have to track too far though, as I work for one, lol!

This is the second time a coworker finds me on my knees beneath a tree along the cherry walk that leads from the office to the parking lot (and grocery store where a lot of us walk to get lunch). Both times she's approached very slowly, afraid I was stalking some little animal she might scare off. Both times it was mushrooms. She must be thinking I'm a little wacky. This time I actually stained the elbow of my suit coat trying to get down in the mud!
