self-portrait challenge - what i wear

this shot is partly in honor of halloween, but also because i find even the simplest clothes are just a series of costumes and disguises, and i really like to play dress up. what i choose to wear at any given moment depends a lot on what "scene" is coming up next. is the set urban or rural? is my character trying to fit in at work or simply relaxing at home? picking up a pizza or going out for sushi in a hip college town? do i want to stand out or blend into the scenery? how confidently do i need to move through the setting? a different outfit can make one feel like a different person, and the costume we show people affects their perception of us — similar to a mask.

i adore fashion, but don't let trends dictate what i choose to wear or not wear. i like to mix vintage with new, and girly (like this long, shiny silver skirt) with not-so-girly (like these frye harness boots). i love old jewelry - this necklace is a flea-market find from years past. i also love layers, and i wear skirts 99% of the time, even when i'm just hanging out at home. silver, black and green are the colors i gravitate towards. oh, and i would really love to know what it feels like to wear a dress like this:
